Noah and Eliza tackle some fan fiction (nope not that kind) in their comparison of two twisted tales of celeb worship: Der Fan, a disturbing German thriller from 1982 about a teen fangirl spiraling into madness, and The Fanatic, Fred Durst’s catastrophic directorial debut, featuring John Travolta as an autistic fanboy. Like the monomaniacal main characters in both movies, we get obsessed with the star power of Der Fan’s ‘R’, a New Wave pop freak, and Devon Sawa, who really carries The Fanatic on his fkn back.

Can any of it live up to the Midnight Screening team’s own famous fixations: Matt Corby, Avril Lavigne and Zac Efron?? It’s time to clock tf into the stan forums and defend your fave to death…
